Aronimink hosted the PGA Championship this past May, and Aaron Rai walked away with his first career major on the same Donald Ross layout that's up for auction this week. Ross considered Aronimink close to his masterpiece when he laid it out in 1928. The club has since become the only venue to host all three of the PGA of America's rotating majors — the PGA Championship, the Senior PGA, and the Women's PGA. That history is exactly why this week's bid stands out: it's running 50% under Aronimink's own $1,398-per-player average, on a real track record of 13 past sales. A course that hosted a major just under three months ago rarely stays at a discount like that for long. Market InsightPhiladelphia Cricket Club's Wissahickon course is currently sitting 49% under its own $1,114-per-player average across ten sales. Both Baltimore Country Club courses are running nearly as deep with the East course sitting 42% under its average on eight sales, while the West course is 45% below its average. Each of the lots still have three days left before they close Thursday, but there's potential for a buyer to land a deal at any of the three well below what they'd normally cost.
